MarMaRa 2025 Symposium

Artificial Intelligence for Rare Diseases

On May 19 and 20th, 2025, the MarMaRa Institute organized its annual symposium at La Timone in Marseille, bringing together over 130 participants to discuss the theme: " Artificial Intelligence: what future for Rare Diseases? "

Interdisciplinary convergence

The symposium brought together researchers, clinicians, students and patients to explore the use of AI in the diagnosis, treatment and understanding of rare diseases. Discussions covered a wide range of topics, including genomic medicine, medical imaging, real-life data and the emergence of innovative digital applications and tools. A round-table discussion also provided an opportunity for professionals and patients to exchange views on the outlook for rare diseases.

Awards for our young researchers

The symposium also highlighted the incentive actions supported by MarMaRa in 2024, as well as oral and poster presentations by the Institute's young researchers illustrating the Institute's commitment to promoting its projects. Prizes for the best posters were awarded to Yoann Kovacs and Imane Ben-Daoud, and to Mélanie Brosset-Heckel for the best oral presentation, CONGRATS to them!

Thanks to all the speakers for their participation!
